Pete responding to antibiotics. Infection rate down. A little tired. Able to be up in his chair for a few hours each day.
Pete remains in Kingston Hospital undergoing treatment for infection. He improved until Wednesday when his infection rate rose again and further antibiotics have been administered. He has had a very difficult, tiring & uncomfortable few days. Pete has displayed his usual determination and has been buoyed by Anne, Phil & Chris but the extra inspiration of his friends is needed now more than ever.
If you feel able to do so please don't hesitate to visit Pete now at Kingston Hospital or later when he returns to Claygate. Your support and encouragement may be the tonic he needs to pick up and continue the battle. We don't know exactly what he makes of our efforts but we all know what a fighter he is. Now is the time to come and help him along the way.
Peter has contracted a urine infection and on Wednesday 11th he was taken into Kingston Hospital for antibiotic treatment. He is under the weather but responding and fighting with his customary determination. Congratulations to Pete's cousin, Daniel Wake, on his 21st birthday. Best wishes to Luke Connoley and Max Kirby who are about to undertake a challenging Pyrenean cycle ride in aid of Pete's Trust. Pete is still battling his way forward on all fronts. We have good days and not so good days. He continues to try to respond as much as possible. On Sunday afternoon we spent a sunny few hours at old familiar haunts in Putney, where Pete spent much of his early life and school years. Enjoying more trips out while the weather holds good.
Last weekend we enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon at Putney embankment, passing old haunts including the KCS boathouse. Great fun. Hoping to enjoy many more such trips while the weatber lasts. Peter has had a dental check up - all well. Many thanks to all Pete's visitors in the past week.
Pete has met with his neurologist, who was positive and encouraged us to build on Pete's current regime of physio and various other therapies. This is our common goal.
On Sunday 18th Phil completed his Great North 10k Run in 56 mins 22 secs. Many thanks to all sponsors for their inspirational good wishes and support.
We enjoyed having Pete home again last Saturday afternoon. This week Pete is enjoying more manageable temperatures and taking in a little tv golf from The Open. Later this month he has a quarterly check up with his neurosurgeon. Thank you to all Pete's recent visitors.
